Throughout this tour, I share the observations and experiences I’ve gathered over the past five years. In addition to a stop at the *Drenkelingenhuisje* (the "shipwrecked survivors' shelter"), would you like to enjoy a walk in the most remote part of Terschelling—with a great chance of seeing seals up close, both on the beach and in the water?

Please note: the *Amelandergat* area is no longer always accessible by car. If you are mobile and able to walk for a total of 40 minutes, we are less dependent on the tides. If you have limited mobility, we will need to ensure that the timing coincides with low tide and that the natural elements—specifically the wind—are favorable (i.e., not blowing too strongly from the northwest).

During this unique experience, I will take professional photographs of everything we encounter along the way. Naturally, I will also take photos of you, so that afterward you will receive a beautiful digital collection as a lasting memento.

During the trip, we’ll take some time to warm up with a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, accompanied by a delicious cookie from my onboard refreshment bar.

Discover Terschelling with our exclusive beach tour

Join me on a unique journey of discovery along the vast beaches of Terschelling. On this exclusive tour, we will explore the coastline, stretching from the ‘Groene Strand’ (Green Beach) all the way to the ‘Amelandergat’. It is the perfect way to experience the beach in all its grandeur—you will see for yourself just how wide it is, how it is constantly expanding, and how a new piece of Terschelling is slowly but surely taking shape.

Along the way, I will share stories and insights I have gathered over the past five years spent on these shores. You will get a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the natural forces that shape this extraordinary island. I will show you the elements driving these ongoing changes, and explain how wind, water, and tides influence the erosion of the dunes on the eastern side.

Once we reach the Amelandergat, we will look for seals resting on the sandbanks or swimming in the water—a special experience that is different every single time. The walk to this point and back takes approximately 40 minutes. For guests with limited mobility, we can travel a significant distance along the beach by car. Please note, however, that this is only possible during low tide and when the wind is not blowing from the northwest, as these conditions can cause the water level to rise too high.

Throughout the tour, we will also keep an eye out for the local wildlife. If we encounter seals that appear too young or ill, I will immediately report them to the seal rescue center, providing a video in accordance with their guidelines. We can also collect any weakened birds, ensuring they are safely transported to a bird rescue center. And, of course, we’ll stop along the way to look for amber—searching together so that, in addition to a wonderful photo series, you might just take home a special piece of amber as a keepsake.

To ensure you get the most out of your time on the beach, I can arrange a delicious meal by the campfire following your adventurous beach ride. Soak up the tranquility, the open space, and the warmth of the fire as you reflect on everything you’ve seen and experienced along the way.

Sunrise:
Departure between 6:30 AM and 10:30 AM, depending on the time of sunrise and whether you wish to view it from as far east as possible.
Starting from your holiday accommodation, we will travel to 'Heartbreak,' then to the 'drenkelingenhuisje' (survivors' shelter), Cupido’s Polder, and finally to Paal 3—the highest dune.
Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours

Sunset:
Departure between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
Starting from your holiday accommodation, we will travel to 'Heartbreak,' then to the 'drenkelingenhuisje' (survivors' shelter), Cupido’s Polder, and finally to Paal 3—the highest dune. Throughout the journey, we hope to watch the sun sink into the sea.
Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours

I am permitted to drive on the beach until 10:00 AM and again from 6:00 PM onwards.
